Clear requirements receive a fixed quote directly. Important questions can be investigated in an optional planning phase at an agreed price of no more than $500 USD. You keep the resulting handoff.
Approve one useful phase
Before implementation, we agree on scope, acceptance criteria, price and expected timing. You explicitly approve the work.
Put it into use
Build and check the agreed work, then conclude or separately approve another phase.
You keep the documented requirements, findings, recommended approach, scope boundaries, and acceptance criteria. When the build is viable and sufficiently defined, the handoff includes a fixed proposal for the first implementation, with timing and operating responsibilities. If the right answer is not to proceed, you receive the reasons and alternatives instead. You can use the handoff with Featherply, another developer, or nobody. No paid work starts until its scope and price are agreed and you explicitly approve it.

I work with agencies when a project needs a custom plugin, an unusual integration, or application functionality beyond the normal website build.
Small, clearly scoped development assignments can be subcontracted under your agency’s name. Larger custom-software projects are contracted directly through Featherply, with a referral arrangement available.
For small agency assignments, we can agree on an hourly cap or a fixed price before work starts. Larger software projects are scoped and priced in phases.

Access and data
Define who can see and change information, including accounts, permissions, and applicable access controls. Agree on confidentiality and tooling boundaries before access.

Include the deployment, monitoring, backups, release process, and operating responsibilities that the scoped application needs. Make hosting and third-party costs explicit.

Verification and handover
Verify important workflows and failure cases, document the delivered system, and agree on handover arrangements and any ongoing support.
